Currently, in Lake County:

  • 112,658 people do not have health insurance

Solutions:

Find Help Lake County: Website that connects families in need with more than 1,400 health and human services in our area as well as national resources. It includes an overview of agency services, how to obtain community services, and examples of major service providers. The Find Help Lake County print resource guide provides a comprehensive list of health and human services available throughout Lake County. The print resource guide also includes a list of services available in Spanish.

Kids 1st Health Fair: Provides a one-stop opportunity for children of low income families to meet the medical requirements for the start of school by providing physicals, dental exams, immunizations, medical tests, backpack fittings and nutritional counseling.

Federal Emergency Food & Shelter Program (EFSP): Supplemental federal funding for emergency food and shelter programs. UWLC provides the administration and distribution of EFSP funds to eligible local agencies.

United Way of Lake County Three Year Impact Grant: UWLC allocated over $900,000 to health and human service programs that meet the goals of the Safe and Stable Families program.

FamilyWize: FamilyWize cards immediately lower the cost of medicine by an average of 35% or more for people without insurance or who take medications not covered by their plan.
