This year, United Way of Lake County is celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday and Read Across America Day on March 2 by hosting a reading day at participating schools throughout Lake County.
This year, we are collecting Dr. Seuss books that will be donated to schools in Lake County in honor of Read Across America Day. You can help by hosting a book drive with your friends, family or co-workers to collect new or gently-used Dr. Seuss books by Friday, February 23. Click on the flyer below to help promote your book drive.
Our programs, such as Success By 6 and Reading Success focus on building early literacy skills so that children can develop strong reading skills and improve reading performance as they progress through school. For these programs to continue to pave the way for a child's success, we are always collecting Dr. Seuss books in both English and Spanish. Here are a handful of Dr. Seuss book titles that you can donate:
Would You Rather Be A Bullfrog?
Put Me In The Zoo
I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!
Oh, the Thinks You Can Think!
There’s No Place Like Space
El Gato Ensombrerado
Un Pez, Dos Peces, Pez Rojo, Pez Azul
¿Eres mi Mamá?
Huevos verdes con jamón
