Science Speakers volunteer their time to make engaging and interactive presentations to local students about their careers. Many students struggling with poverty are unaware of the career options available to them. The Science Speakers program gives students an opportunity to meet and interact with successful local professionals. Speakers educate students about the practical application of their science curriculum in science-related topics such as creative problem solving, invention, design, research, and development.
Science Speakers volunteer their time in 5th-grade classrooms in the Waukegan school district during the last week of April.
