Science Speakers volunteer their time to make engaging and interactive presentations to local students about their careers. Many students struggling with poverty are unaware of career options available to them. The Science Speakers program gives students an opportunity to meet and interact with successful local professionals. Speakers educate students about the practical application of their science curriculum in science-related topics such as creative problem solving, invention, design, research and development.
Science Speakers currently volunteer in 4th and 5th grade classrooms in the following Waukegan schools: Clearview, Glen Flora, Glenwood and North.
Science Speakers volunteers during the last week in April.
