Adrian Peace, Vice President, Specialty Brands, M&A from Grainger, visited a group of Waukegan students to share his journey from youth…to college…to professional success… including his challenges along the way…
“Life will present you with open doors- some more obvious than others. The trick is recognizing those moments and taking advantage of those opportunities.” - Adrian Peace
United Way of Lake County invites top Lake County executives to talk with small groups of Waukegan students throughout the school year. Many students in our community, who are struggling with poverty and facing multiple risk-factors, are unaware of career options available to them and have very little exposure to inspiring professional role models essential for developing career interests.
Through United Way’s speaking events, students meet successful local professionals who demonstrate the value of staying in school and illustrate the direct connection between academics and future success. The students light up at these events – they learn about the possibilities of their future. They hear from community leaders, who have often had their own challenges in life, and the students leave inspired.
Your support opens doors for our students and helps students plan for a bright future.
