Staff Spotlight: Jennifer Cheng
Welcome to this week’s Familiar Faces Friday. In this spotlight we are introducing Jennifer Cheng, our Donor Services Manager. Come learn more about Jennifer and the work she does for United Way of Lake County!
When did you start working at United Way of Lake County?
I returned to United Way of Lake County January 1, 2015.
What is your title and role?
I am the Donor Services Manager. I support the Resource Development and the Management teams in planning, executing and reporting the results of the Annual campaign.
What made you want to be a part of this organization?
I worked at United Way of Lake County before for six years. I know the dedication and commitment of the staff and volunteers to help the organization accomplish its mission. I re-joined the United Way team because the work we do is creating a positive change in the future of Lake County: one child, one family at a time.
Which of United Way’s programs do you connect to most and why?
I have volunteered and work in the Success by Six program as a kindergarten readiness camp teacher and have also served as a reading tutor for Reading Success.
What is your favorite part of your job here?
I enjoy learning from my co-workers. I learn so much from each one’s work and interaction with the community.
When you are not at work, what kinds of things do you do with your time?
Spending time with my husband and children around the Chicagoland exploring different cultures and cuisines, or visiting the gardens.
Thank you for joining us this week for another Familiar Faces Friday. Next week we are introducing Robin Bultman, our Community Impact Coordinator.
