Celebrate the Season of Giving
We are thrilled to share that we exceeded our goal of $13k, raising $13,213 on #GivingTuesday. These funds will be used to sponsor more families in our Home Visiting Program that provides free early intervention and health care services to the highest-risk families in Lake County.
We would like to thank those individuals who made a Giving Tuesday gift and recognize our Matching Gift Sponsor, P&G for pledging to match all gifts made up to $6,500.

New Year, New You: Become a Volunteer Reading Tutor
Our Reading Success Program is designed to improve literacy skills for Waukegan elementary students who are unable to read at grade level. After six months of one-on-one tutoring, 99% of students improved their reading skills and, on average, those within the program showed a 17-point increase on their standardized reading test scores.
We are looking to add more volunteer classroom tutors in the new year. If you would like to become a reading tutor, all that is needed is an hour a week and a love of reading! We welcome both English and Spanish speaking volunteers. To learn more about the program, click the button below.

MyFreeTaxes is an easy, safe, and free way to file your taxes online. Available for residents in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, you can file your federal and state returns for free at MyFreeTaxes.com. United Way promotes MyFreeTaxes to help support the health, education, and financial stability of every person in every community, and maximizing your tax refund is a key step towards that goal.
The income cap for tax season 2018 will be $66,000 for individuals and households. Similar to last year, MyFreeTaxes will use H&R Block’s premium product. Stay tuned for more information in January!
