When did you join UWLC?
I joined the UWLC family on July 10, 2023.
Tell us about your title and role.
As the 211 Manager, I am committed to taking an innovative and passionate approach to ensuring that 211 Lake County excels in delivering information and referral services to everyone in our community. Our goal is to provide a positive experience for individuals and remain a valued partner to stakeholders throughout the county.
What did you do before joining UWLC?
Before joining UWLC, I worked with Prairie State Legal Services to improve access to civil legal aid for communities harmed by violence, excessive incarceration, and economic disinvestment.
What made you want to be a part of this organization?
UWLC is a forward-facing and progressive organization committed to improving the quality of life for families throughout Lake County. My goal has always been to contribute my skill set to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization that prioritizes a model of community that allows everyone to thrive.
Which of UWLC’s programs do you connect to most and why?
I truly connect with our 211 helpline. We are dedicated to connecting everyone in Lake County with resources that meet their changing needs. So many individuals and families are in need, and our goal is to alleviate the stress of independently identifying resources. 211 Lake County acts as a hub for resources, and to ensure its sustainability, we fully support 211 Illinois’ commitment to all counties throughout the state having access to 211 services.
What is your favorite part of your job here?
My favorite part of this job is knowing that our work is making a difference and positively impacting the lives of children, families and individuals throughout Lake County. I am enthusiastic about what the future of 211 will bring and how it will undeniably multiply our impact.
When you are not at work, what kinds of things do you do with your time?
I love listening to music, writing, and crafting in my spare time.
